In what way is organic farming sustainable?

Sustainable for us means being able to continual growing on the same land year after year, without damaging the soils, by removing the nutrition, which can occur if nothing is added back to the soil. We are fortunate to grow on peat which is extremely high in organic matter, and because of this we have deep supplies of nutrients originating from layers of rotting vegetation from 100’s of years. We also add seaweed fertilisers to the soil to increase microbial activity, which in turn attracts worms which help aerate the soil and increase bacterias in the soil. This method of farming can continual without the need to replenish loads of fertilisers as conventional farming does.
